Susan dedicated 20 years of her life to the home-building industry with her husband Dave. Susan founded Furniture Studio with the dream of filling the void of interior design outlets in the area. Her vision was to offer flair and style through unique home furnishings while “creating an atmosphere you’ll love". Prior to opening Furniture Studio, Susan often traveled to surrounding areas to find new ideas while bringing home styles that she loved.
While she was raising teenagers and assisting her husband with several businesses, Susan was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2001, she made the initial furniture purchase for the opening of Furniture Studio and then left the responsibility of the company to her daughter, Jaime.
Although Susan lost her 6 year battle with breast cancer, her legacy continues through the work of our designers.
Running a small business doesn’t allow for a true work/life balance. But if you enjoy what you do, work doesn't feel like work (even if you put in 80 hours a week). That is exactly how Kevin and Jaime feel, and they embrace the challenge of juggling their time between family and multiple businesses. Kevin and Jaime include their five boys in their business endeavours by seeking alternative teaching opportunities (aka plain old work!) for the boys along the way.
The Whites have been involved with Furniture Studio since the early days where you could find Kevin and Jaime delivering sofas, or Jaime loading tables into vehicles while pregnant, and to the present day as their sons help deliver furniture!
