Unique. Eclectic.

Curve Sofa.  Large Picture.  Inviting tables with interesting finishes.
Missing a rug, but otherwise this is a typical setting in the Studio.

I love looking at the displays while browsing Furniture Studio.  It has been a haven for me during some emotional times.  To me, it has been a ‘home away from home’ for over 7 years!

The curve sofa is our most popular sofa.  Fits in everywhere when a room has too many focal points.  Fireplace, windows, entertainment.

New Pieces:You have to see and feel the finish on the buffet.  Absolutely beautiful!
The cocktail table is oval with a plank effect.  The distressed finish is elegant and rustic.

Beauty So Close To Home

It’s amazing how beautiful Wisconsin is.

My husband and I went to Maine on our honeymoon and decided it looked very similar to Wisconsin.  Lake Petenwell is 20 minutes from where I grew up and NEVER even knew it existed!  These pictures are from when my husband took our kids there for the first time.

Of course, the areas are developing now and others are discovering the beauty - so we have to go check and see what the fuss is all about.  Well, it is stunning.

If you get a chance, you should visit Castle Rock, Lake Petenwell, and other small cities along the Wisconsin River.  You will be amazed at the beauty.

Urban Comfort, Puff Chair.

Jaime July 26th, 2007

I sat in the Puff Chair at my first market as I waited for Marilee to finish looking at fabric swatches, etc…  Wow! How Comfortable! Several markets later, I was able to buy it for the store.

A lot of fabric options, easy to ship, easy to find a place in your home for it.  Kick back and Relax.  Kids love them (they make great presents).

I purchased one for myself and would curl up when pregnant (too tired to move) or nursing.  The kids loved sleeping in it too.

Assisted Living New to Wisconsin Rapids

Jaime July 24th, 2007

The older population is looking for a different option than the traditional nursing home. So Assisted Living is the new and improved choice.

Recognizing a great community, Fred & Sandy Miller of Miller Construction selected Wisconsin Rapids for their first Assisted Living development. They selected Furniture Studio for furniture & accessories.

I know Lori & Leah (the designers at Furniture Studio) enjoyed the challenge of coordinating the furniture & accessories for this large facility.

We have yet to see how it will all look (I’ll try to post AFTER pictures), but the initial presentation was a “GO”.

There will be an Open House around the end of September 2007.  I wonder if they will give us a sampling of the treats that will be available in the ‘Ice cream parlor’.

Add A Touch Of Contemporary.

It’s amazing how your tastes can change. I never thought I would see the day I would say that I like contemporary. Maybe some day I will say the same about shiny brass, but for now… No Thank You.

Glass, Nickle, Leather, with a Dark Cherry Finish. This collection from Bernhardt Furniture is classic contemporary. Take a deeper look at the details such as the round pedestal table and optional curved bench seating. The way you add extensions to a round table is adding a ‘leaf’ to the center which makes it oval or to the outside edge for a larger round. Many dining rooms were made for a rectangular extension, but if you have the space - a Round Table adds Uniqueness.

Give functional furniture a curve & bench seating and I’m looking for a place to put in my home!
What details appeal to you?

Incorporate this sleek chair instead for an entirely different look.   Everyone likes something a little different and furniture is a great way to express your personal style.  Every style (even… I hate to say this… Shiny Brass) can look stunning if it is done well.
So.  Trust your instincts and Get Creative!

What a great piece of furniture! I love the idea of having a filing cabinet right next to a place to work on the laptop.  Out of reach for the kids and all in one area.  Put an end to the clutter with a space saving desk like this.

I agree with Stephanie Roberts:
“There is a deep connection between our living spaces and the quality of our life experience that goes far beyond the basic need for shelter and our desire for a comfortable home. When key rooms in the house are cluttered and disorganized, related aspects of our lives tend to feel chaotic, constricted, or unfulfilling as well.”  And visit her website www.fastfengshui.com for more ideas.

Furnishing ‘Green’

Jaime July 17th, 2007

Not just for your food anymore, sustainable products are gaining in popularity even in the world of home decor.  The styles are relaxed and easy to live with, and gives a ‘feel good’ feeling.  Natural colors and textures mix well.  Take the plunge and ‘go green’ in your home.
